Flashback Friday. Not-so-long-ago 2021.
Meet Amanda and Jud Taylor—Scott + Cooner’s current owners and longtime members of the family.
Before taking the reins, Jud joined in 2014 managing international logistics, and Amanda followed in 2016, starting as Lloyd’s assistant before stepping into sales. Together, they learned every corner of the business—operations, clients, vendors, and beyond.
When the opportunity to buy the showrooms came up in 2021, they didn’t hesitate. With complementary strengths (hers in sales and display, his in finance and ops), Amanda and Jud brought a fresh spark and steady hands to the legacy Lloyd and Josy built.
Their approach? Keep the bar high, keep it personal, and keep listening. And so far, it’s working.

The Beginning:
Back in 1995, Lloyd Scott and Josy Cooner opened a small modern furniture showroom in Dallas with one goal: bring European design to Texas. What started as a bold idea quickly turned into something much bigger, with a second showroom in Austin by 2000 and a move to the Dallas Decorative Center in 2003.
Three decades, countless projects, and so many great partnerships later—we’re still doing what we love.
