LaCividina

LaCividina is an Italian furniture company renowned for beautifully crafted sofas, armchairs, modular seating systems, and contemporary furniture that bring together exceptional comfort, sophisticated design, and authentic Made in Italy craftsmanship. Since 1976, the company has developed a distinctive approach to upholstered furniture, combining artisanal knowledge with technological innovation and an international design perspective.

Created for residential, hospitality, workplace, and contract interiors, LaCividina furniture is distinguished by expressive forms, meticulous upholstery, thoughtful details, and an enduring commitment to quality.

Italian Craftsmanship Meets Contemporary Design

At the heart of LaCividina is a deep knowledge of upholstered furniture. Its sofas and armchairs are manufactured in Italy, where traditional furniture-making techniques coexist with contemporary production methods.

Frames are carefully constructed in wood or metal before skilled craftspeople complete the padding and upholstery by hand. This combination of technical precision and artisanal workmanship gives LaCividina seating its characteristic comfort, durability, and beautifully tailored appearance.

Rather than treating craftsmanship and innovation as opposing ideas, LaCividina brings them together—creating modern Italian furniture that feels both contemporary and enduring.

Sofas and Armchairs Designed Around People

LaCividina believes furniture should create connections between people and the spaces they inhabit. That philosophy can be seen throughout a collection encompassing sofas, modular seating systems, armchairs, small sofas, chairs, benches, ottomans, coffee tables, and outdoor furniture.

From sculptural statement seating to expansive modular configurations, LaCividina designs furniture for an evolving range of environments. Its pieces can create an intimate place to relax at home, encourage conversation in a hotel or lounge, or provide adaptable seating for contemporary workplaces and public spaces.

Comfort remains central to every application, giving the collection an inviting quality even when the architecture of a piece is strikingly modern.

International Designers, Distinctly Italian Expertise

LaCividina collaborates with an international roster of designers who bring individual perspectives to the company’s expertise in furniture making. The result is a remarkably diverse collection connected by shared principles of simplicity, adaptability, material research, and craftsmanship.

Designers including Pierre Paulin, Sebastian Herkner, Constance Guisset, Form Us With Love, Garcia Cumini, Elisa Ossino, Sabine Marcelis, and Norm Architects have contributed to the evolving LaCividina collection.

Among its most recognizable designs is Pierre Paulin’s Osaka seating system, a fluid and modular design that demonstrates how an iconic concept can remain relevant across generations. Contemporary collections continue this spirit, exploring new approaches to form, flexibility, comfort, and the relationship between furniture and architecture.

Made in Italy, Made to Endure

LaCividina’s commitment to Made in Italy extends beyond aesthetics. Its sofas and armchairs are produced entirely within the company’s Italian manufacturing facility, allowing close oversight of materials, construction, upholstery, finishing, and quality.

The company’s production process follows internationally recognized standards for quality and environmental management, while the Italian origin of its furniture and components is independently certified.

This emphasis on responsible production and longevity reflects a simple idea: well-designed furniture should be made to remain useful and beautiful over time.

Furniture for Residential and Contract Interiors

LaCividina’s expertise extends from private residences to hotels, restaurants, offices, lounges, cultural spaces, and other contract environments around the world. Modular seating systems and customizable upholstered furniture give architects and interior designers considerable freedom to respond to the scale, function, and character of each project.

The collection also continues to evolve beyond the traditional interior. LaCividina’s outdoor furniture translates the company’s distinctive approach to comfort, modularity, and contemporary Italian design into open-air settings, creating new possibilities for terraces, patios, hospitality environments, and modern residential landscapes.
