Lasvit

Lasvit is a Bohemian design and artisan house renowned for transforming glass and light into extraordinary works of contemporary design. Rooted in more than a thousand years of Northern Bohemian glassmaking tradition, Lasvit combines exceptional craftsmanship with innovative technology and a distinctly modern creative vision.

From hand-blown glass pendants and designer chandeliers to monumental bespoke lighting installations, glass sculptures, architectural glass, and decorative objects, Lasvit creates pieces that transcend conventional lighting. Each design celebrates the expressive possibilities of glass while bringing atmosphere, emotion, and artistry to contemporary interiors.

The Art of Bohemian Glassmaking

Lasvit’s story is inseparable from the centuries-old glassmaking culture of Northern Bohemia in the Czech Republic. Generations of artisans in the region have developed extraordinary expertise in shaping molten glass by hand, preserving techniques that continue to influence the company’s work today.

Lasvit carries this heritage forward by combining traditional glassmaking skills with experimentation, engineering, and contemporary design. Its glassmakers approach the material as artists, exploring color, texture, transparency, reflection, and form to create lighting and objects with an unmistakably handcrafted character.

The result is contemporary Bohemian glass that honors its history without being defined by it.

Sculptural Lighting for Extraordinary Interiors

Light is both a functional element and an artistic medium at Lasvit. The company’s lighting collection includes pendants, chandeliers, table lamps, floor lamps, wall lights, ceiling lights, and illuminated sculptures designed to transform the atmosphere of a space.

Collections such as Neverending Glory, Crystal Rock, Frozen, Press, Spacey, Constellation, Niveo, and Loomo demonstrate the remarkable range of Lasvit lighting. Some celebrate the fluidity and imperfection of hand-blown glass, while others explore geometry, texture, movement, nature, and the interaction between glass and illumination.

Whether a single pendant is suspended above a dining table or a dramatic chandelier becomes the focal point of an architectural interior, Lasvit lighting blurs the distinction between functional design and collectible glass art.

Bespoke Lighting and Custom Glass Installations

Beyond its lighting collections, Lasvit is internationally recognized for creating large-scale bespoke glass installations.

The company’s global ateliers work with architects, interior designers, developers, and clients to develop site-specific lighting and glass artworks for private residences, hotels, restaurants, retail environments, cultural institutions, and public spaces. Lasvit has completed thousands of bespoke installations around the world, translating creative concepts into technically sophisticated works of glass and light.

Designers, glassmakers, engineers, lighting specialists, and installation teams collaborate throughout the process, allowing Lasvit to manage projects from initial concept and material development through engineering, fabrication, and final installation.

The possibilities extend far beyond conventional chandeliers. Lasvit can integrate movement, changing illumination, color, sound, and dynamic lighting effects into custom installations, turning light into an immersive architectural experience.

International Design Meets Czech Craftsmanship

Lasvit’s contemporary identity is strengthened by collaborations with celebrated designers, architects, artists, and creative studios from around the world.

These collaborations bring diverse perspectives to the traditions of Czech and Bohemian glassmaking, resulting in pieces that range from elegantly restrained lighting to experimental glass sculptures and dramatic installations.

Under the creative direction of Czech designer Maxim Velčovský, Lasvit continues to explore the boundaries between art, craft, architecture, and technology while keeping the knowledge of master glassmakers at the center of the creative process.

Glass for Architecture

Lasvit’s expertise extends from decorative lighting to artisanal glass for architecture. Working at an architectural scale allows the company to use glass not simply as an object within a room, but as an integral part of the space itself.

Custom glass elements and modular glass systems can introduce texture, transparency, reflection, pattern, and light into architectural interiors and façades. Extensive possibilities in glass and metal finishes give architects and designers considerable freedom to develop solutions tailored to the character and technical requirements of a project.

This combination of creative exploration, material expertise, engineering, and craftsmanship makes Lasvit an exceptional resource for ambitious residential, hospitality, retail, and commercial interiors.

Decorative Glass and Objects for the Home

The artistry of Lasvit can also be experienced at a more intimate scale. Its Home & Décor collection includes hand-blown glassware, vases, bowls, carafes, sculptural objects, and decorative accessories.

These pieces share the experimental spirit of Lasvit’s lighting and architectural installations while revealing the individual character of handmade glass up close. Variations created through the glassmaking process become part of each object’s identity, celebrating craftsmanship rather than uniformity.

From a sculptural vase to finely crafted drinking glasses, the collection offers another way to introduce contemporary Bohemian glass into the home.
