Catifa Carta uses PaperShell, a material made from layers of paper bonded with natural resin, while Catifa (RE) 46 features a shell produced from recycled post-consumer and post-industrial plastic. Material innovations such as PaperShell demonstrate how familiar furniture forms can be reconsidered through new manufacturing methods. Catifa Carta’s shell is made from 29 layers of paper and natural resin and can ultimately be transformed into biochar, retaining the carbon captured within the material. Arper also offers products with environmental certifications and declarations to support informed specification for professional projects.
